The rare kalari teaching all three regional styles, at Paravanadukkam near Bekal, with evening classes three days a week.
P. K. Abubaker Musaliyar Gurukkal teaches the northern, southern and mid-Kerala styles, a combination very few schools offer. Around forty students train on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, with competition training intensifying before championships, and judo and yoga also taught.
There is no accommodation at the kalari; visiting foreign students, most often from Scotland and New Zealand, stay at the Bekal Fort resorts nearby and come in for classes. Standard kalari treatment is available.
