A kuzhi kalari in the backwater district, teaching northern and southern systems to a broad local intake with short customised programmes for visiting foreigners.
Founder Harikrishnan Gurukkal trained in all three regional styles before opening in Thalavady in 2008. The kalari keeps traditional dimensions despite Alappuzha's water table, which forced a concrete floor after the 2018 floods.
Students range from five to past forty, training Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with morning classes on demand. Branches run in Kottayam, Pathanamthitta and Kollam under former students, with around 1,200 students across them.
Short customised programmes are arranged for foreigners with flexible timings. There is no accommodation on site, though board and lodging can be arranged on request. Students receive massage during Karkidakam.
